New CNMI office for student aid
The law renames the CNMI Scholarship Office to the CNMI Scholarship and Financial Assistance Office. It sits in the Executive Branch as an autonomous agency under the Scholarship Board. The Board appoints the administrator and must set bylaws for the office’s duties and rules. The office manages CNMI scholarships and other higher-education financial help, including handling delinquent or defaulted aid agreements. All old references now mean the new office, and the Code is updated. It takes effect when approved by the Governor or if it becomes law without approval.
