Saipan’s Precinct II parks get maintenance funding
The law redirects existing funds to the Division of Parks and Recreation for Saipan’s Precinct II. It allocates $26,000 for a riding mower and $25,000 for maintenance and improvements at Commonwealth parks and recreation facilities. The money cannot be used for other purposes and has no fiscal-year deadline. The Parks and Recreation Director controls spending, in consultation with the Secretary of Lands and Natural Resources. After spending is complete, the Director must send a detailed report to the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation’s Chairperson.
