Beginning July 1, 2025, Mississippi accepts more credentials and training for asbestos work certificates. Certified industrial hygienist credentials, or equivalent credentials in a related science field, satisfy professional qualification requirements for management planners and project designers. Completing applicable training through an asbestos program authorized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also satisfies specified training requirements. This training option covers management planners, project designers, inspectors, and workers. For air monitor applicants, it applies only to required supervisor training.
