Beginning July 1, 2025, Mississippi regional commissions can offer expanded care through certification as Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics. Services must follow federal clinic rules, meet local needs, use proven practices, and coordinate care with community partners. The Department of Mental Health must certify and monitor clinics, while Medicaid must establish a payment system with rates set in advance. Both agencies must apply for the federal clinic demonstration grant during the next available application period. The law sets no payment rates or total funding and does not guarantee a grant award.
