Lower tuition for veterans from outside Mississippi

Beginning July 1, 2025, eligible nonresident veterans and other Title 38 education-benefit recipients can access resident-level tuition in Mississippi. This expansion covers students who qualify for Yellow Ribbon funds but are not covered individuals under Section 702 of the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014. Their Mississippi public university, community college, or junior college must participate in Yellow Ribbon. The school must provide a scholarship, which can include Yellow Ribbon funds, that brings tuition payments to the resident amount. The law requires administration that lets eligible students and participating schools fully participate in and receive Yellow Ribbon funds.
