The law extends Greenwood’s tourism tax authority and Tourism Commission from September 30, 2025, through September 30, 2029. It keeps authority for taxes up to 1% on room rentals at hotels and motels with at least 10 rooms. A separate tax of up to 1% covers prepared food and related beverage sales at restaurants and bars. Restaurants selling no alcohol are exempt if prior-year sales were under $100,000, counting related locations together. These taxes are added to customer bills where practical, and net revenue funds tourism and convention promotion.
