The law updates property-tax impact notices for Montana school district nonvoted levies. Until June 30, 2027, notices show estimated costs for homes worth $100,000 and $200,000. Beginning July 1, 2027, notices show $100,000, $300,000, and $600,000. Estimates use the district’s latest taxable value certified by the Department of Revenue. Trustees must adopt the resolution by March 31 each year, publish it in the largest local newspaper, and post it on the district website. Starting July 1, 2027, the flexibility fund no longer requires this notice; tuition, adult education, transportation, and bus depreciation funds still do.
