State posts emergency hospital and death counts

During a governor-declared public health emergency, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services posts data at least twice a week on its website and other ways. It shows total people hospitalized and total deaths from the emergency conditions. Counts are broken out by age (0–4, 5–17, 18–34, 35–49, 50–64, 65+), gender, hospital stay dates, and dates of death. It also shares underlying conditions that may have contributed, or other traits tied to deaths when conditions are not listed. If sharing details risks someone’s privacy, the department may change groupings or withhold items. All reports follow Montana privacy law (50-16-603).
