75+ seniors can take cow elk

Montana residents age 75 or older can use a general elk license to take an antlerless (cow) elk. You may do this during any season in a district where youth under 15 can take a cow elk. You may also do this on private land.

Half-price licenses for Montana seniors

Montana residents age 62 or older can buy certain licenses for half price. The discount covers the conservation license, Class A fishing, Class A-1 upland game bird, Class A-3 deer A tag, Class A-5 elk tag, and the Class AAA sports combo without a Class A-6 black bear tag. You must meet Montana’s resident definition in 87-2-102.
