Lewis and Clark plates end Dec 31, 2025

The law repeals the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial license plate program. Beginning December 31, 2025, the state no longer issues these specialty plates. Sponsor applications and plate sales tied to this program stop on that date. The law also removes the Department of Commerce Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Account. Current plate holders are not addressed here.

Updated rules for automatic state funding

The law updates how automatic state funding works. A statute only gets automatic funding if it is on a set list and it clearly says so. The law names the only statutes that qualify and keeps a standing appropriation to pay state bond and note costs. Spending under other laws requires regular appropriations. These rules take effect December 31, 2025.
