Job protections during public office leave

While you serve in public office and take the required leave, your employer cannot force you to use paid leave. They cannot require you to work during that time. These Montana rules cover actions on or after Jan 1, 2025.

Montana workers protected when running

Montana employers cannot stop you from seeking election or appointment to city, county, or state office. They also cannot punish or fire you for doing so. These protections cover actions on or after Jan 1, 2025.
