Grants to train PTSD therapists

The law creates a PTSD provider training grant program at the Department of Labor and Industry. It funds 2-year projects to train mental health professionals in nonmedication therapies. Grantees are chosen competitively and must engage communities and stakeholders before training begins. Grantees report each quarter on trainees and the cost per trainee. The department reports to the Economic Affairs Interim Committee by July 1 each year until projects end. Beginning July 1, 2025, the program runs with $600,000 from the state general fund for the biennium, which lawmakers intend as one-time funding.
