Trafficking prevention in Montana public schools

Beginning July 1, 2025, Montana public schools include lessons on avoiding and preventing child sex trafficking and human trafficking. The Office of Public Instruction leads this work. It reviews best practices and shares resources on warning signs and predatory behavior with parents, teachers, child-care providers, and community members. It coordinates with law enforcement and public health and helps districts build policies, curricula, and reporting steps. The law sets duties and goals but does not provide new funding.
