New subdivision and building rules for RV parks

The law treats areas with multiple RV or mobile home spaces as subdivisions and as buildings for rent. Local subdivision rules must include review standards for these spaces. If you plan four or more rental buildings on one tract, your application must follow the local growth policy and include added materials. This applies to RV or mobile home spaces created on or after the law’s effective date.

Park land or fee now for RV parks

Subdivisions that create permanent multiple RV or mobile home spaces must provide a park dedication. You may need to set aside land or pay a fee. This adds a one-time cost when you develop the property.

RV and mobile parks lose lodging tax break

Spaces in RV or mobile home parks are excluded from the lodging exemption. Operators now owe the lodging facility use tax on those rentals under state law. Budget for higher taxes on rental charges.
