Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Earn days off probation or parole

The law lets probationers and parolees earn work time credit. You get 1 day off supervision for each 40-hour eligible workweek. You must follow all court or board conditions and be current on restitution and supervisory fees. Eligible work means at least 40 wage-earning hours in 7 days with proof. Credits are applied when your supervising officer recommends them.

Limits and paperwork for work credits

To claim credit, you must give proof within 5 business days after you finish 30 days of eligible work. Your officer checks your proof and may call or visit your workplace. Any denial is recorded. Earned credit is revoked if you violate a condition, are charged with a new felony, or are charged with a misdemeanor that can carry more than six months in jail. You are ineligible if under lifetime supervision, required to register as a sexual or violent offender, or in Youth Court.
