Nonresidents now pay $125 for a Smith River bonus point. Residents can buy a $5 bonus point. The state deposits all Smith River floating and camping fees into the corridor enhancement account. Set-asides include $50 from each outfitter client fee and all super permit lottery revenue. They also include all bonus point sales ($5 resident, $125 nonresident) and 5% of other float fees. The 5% excludes the nonrefundable permit application fee. These funds pay to protect scenery and wildlife, restore habitat and banks, and maintain instream flows. Other account money may manage, operate, and maintain the corridor. The law takes effect on passage and approval.
