More time to appeal property tax decisions

This law extends the deadline to appeal a county property tax decision. File your notice with the Montana Tax Appeal Board by the later of two dates. It is 45 days after the county hearing, or 30 days after you get the decision or the county mails it. You must have followed the county board appearance rules (15-15-103) and be aggrieved by the board’s action. The law takes effect on passage and approval, and the new deadlines apply only to hearings held on or after that date.
