Education accounts open career training options
Beginning July 1, 2027, New Hampshire Education Freedom Account (EFA) grant recipients qualify for career and technical education enrollment. Students must meet the program's enrollment requirements. The state education department may pay tuition from its regular budget for eligible EFA students attending district schools part-time. It must set payment rules, including how to adjust or redirect tuition funding for these students. The scholarship organization, working with the department, must provide EFA students in grades 9–12 with information about career training enrollment.
State supports career students' transportation costs
Beginning July 1, 2027, the state education department must keep separate career training tuition and transportation funds and calculate costs annually. After consulting House and Senate education policy and financial committees, it must set separate cost formulas and payment procedures. The department may reimburse full transportation costs for regional career training students and at-risk students in qualifying alternative education programs. Those alternative programs must be at a regional center or another comprehensive high school. Reimbursement uses vehicle type, mileage, and trips—not bus passenger counts; sending districts remain responsible for transportation, with reimbursement from state funds.
