Nursing mothers can request jury duty excuses

Beginning April 22, 2025, New Jersey allows nursing mothers to ask to be excused from jury service. The mother must be nursing or expressing milk for her child, who is age one or younger. The excuse is not automatic. The law applies to jurors selected to serve on a jury on or after that date.
