Free park visits and camping for veterans

Eligible veterans living in New Mexico get two free State Parks Division passes: one for unlimited day-use entry and one for unlimited camping. The passes cover only parks, recreation areas, and camping areas run by the division. Qualifying service includes assignment to active duty in the U.S. armed forces, or at least six continuous years of duty in a military reserve component or the Army or Air National Guard. Public Health Service and NOAA commissioned officers also qualify through active-duty service in defense of the United States. Veterans must not have left service under circumstances amounting to a dishonorable discharge.
