Faster permit decisions for qualifying utilities

New Mexico's utility commission must decide qualifying utility certificate applications within six months of filing. Applications must have certification from the state's Economic Development Department to qualify. The commission can extend the deadline by up to three months for good cause. If it misses the applicable deadline, the application is automatically approved and the case is closed.

Public projects face new funding limits

After June 30, 2028, public projects need specific authorization in law to get New Mexico Public Project Revolving Fund financing. Projects without that authorization are no longer eligible for this funding.
