Higher marriage license fees in New Mexico

New Mexico raises the fee for issuing, acknowledging, and recording a marriage license and certificate to $55. Collected fees go into the county clerk recording and filing fund. The county treasurer must distribute the fees within 15 days after each month ends. Of each fee, $15 goes to the county general fund, and the county clerk retains $20. The state treasurer receives the remaining $20 for the Children's Trust Fund.
