Divided highway violations are misdemeanors

On divided highways, you must stay on the right-hand roadway. You may not drive over or within the median or barrier. You may not make a left turn, semicircle turn, or U-turn unless there is an official opening, crossover, or intersection. A violation is a misdemeanor, not a civil ticket. Courts can also add penalties allowed in NRS 484B.130 or 484B.135, which can mean higher fines or license actions.
