Colleges pay $5 student fee more often

Beginning July 1, 2025, Nevada raises the balance needed to pause the $5 per‑student fee. The indemnification account must have $750,000 or more, up from $250,000, before licensed schools can skip the fee on each initial enrollment. If the balance is below $750,000, schools must pay the $5 fee for each new student until it reaches $750,000 again. The state administrator tells schools when the fee is paused or must resume.
