Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

Easier multistate practice for audiologists and speech-language pathologists

Beginning July 1, 2025, Nevada joins an interstate compact for audiologists and speech-language pathologists. If you hold a qualifying home-state license, you can practice in other member states under a compact privilege. In Nevada, a valid compact privilege counts the same as a Nevada license. The Compact’s Commission sets rules that Nevada follows.

Military families keep home-state license

Beginning July 1, 2025, active duty service members and spouses can keep their home-state license for Compact rules while on active duty. The license must be current and in good standing. After active duty, if you move, you must get licensed in the new state as required.

New fee to get compact privilege

Beginning July 1, 2025, Nevada can charge a fee when it grants a compact privilege. The board sets the amount. If you apply for a compact privilege, you may have to pay this fee.

More license data sharing, some records private

Beginning July 1, 2025, Nevada must send license and discipline data to the Compact’s system and quickly report adverse actions. Only member states can see investigative information, and Nevada must remove data that state law expunges. The board can share investigative records with other boards and law enforcement when feasible. At the same time, some Compact-related records are not public under Nevada’s open-records law.
