Workers' compensation for Nevada Guard and militia

Nevada National Guard and state militia members hurt or killed on state active duty get state workers' compensation. The law also covers a wound, injury, or disability that gets worse or returns while on state active duty. You are treated as a State of Nevada employee for these benefits, and dependents can receive payments if you die. Payments are based on your average income from all sources in the year before the injury, and follow state maximum limits. You cannot receive these state benefits for the same injury if you receive federal benefits under Title 10 or 32, unless the state‑duty injury is an aggravation or a recurrence.

24-hour coverage for Guard on state duty

While you are on state active duty, each day counts as 24 hours of duty. This applies to Nevada National Guard and state militia members. It makes it easier to show an injury happened on duty and to qualify for workers' compensation and other state employee benefits.
