More supportive housing for low-income renters

The Nevada Housing Division must run a supportive housing grant program, not only when extra funds are available. The program funds building and operating supportive housing, trains partners, and tracks results. Before approving building or development grants, the Division consults the Nevada Interagency Advisory Council on Homelessness to Housing. Grantees must agree in writing to follow Nevada landlord-tenant law. In years the program is funded, the Division files a report by December 1. The law sets up a Supportive Housing Development Account for this program that can take gifts and grants, earns interest, and keeps money year to year. The state adds a one-time $21 million to this account to run the program.
