Voters with disabilities can use phones for interpreters

Beginning January 1, 2026, if you are a registered voter with a physical disability, you can use your mobile phone to get interpretation, including American Sign Language, while voting. County clerks and election board officers must provide reasonable accommodations when you ask so you can vote at your polling place.

More election info in many languages

Beginning January 1, 2026, the Secretary of State posts election information and voting materials online in all required languages and in American Sign Language. If fewer than seven languages are required, the site uses at least the seven most common Nevada languages plus ASL. For unwritten languages, the site provides audio. The office uses certified translators when available, or keeps working to find one or work with the community. All election communications are available in English and Spanish. The state runs a toll-free hotline for election help in the 200 most common languages and ASL, and posts the number online. The elections website must include the Voters’ Bill of Rights, vote results in a searchable format, voter lists, maps, reports, and the hotline number; it may link to county or city sites. The Secretary of State also hires a language access coordinator.

What counts as voting materials

Beginning January 1, 2026, Nevada defines “voting materials.” It covers voter registration and preregistration forms; ballots and ballot instructions, including mail, sample, and provisional ballots; voting instructions; polling place and hours information; notices required by election law; ballot questions; and voter help forms. It also covers other materials the Secretary of State requires to be translated. This definition is added to the official election glossary so rules apply the same across the state.
