Educator surveys and gap study

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state funds educator surveys: $1.1 million in FY2025–26 and $900,000 in FY2026–27. It also provides a one-time $500,000 for a statewide gap analysis required by NRS 385.920. Unused FY2025–26 survey funds must revert by September 18, 2026; FY2026–27 survey funds by September 17, 2027. The gap analysis funds must be committed by June 30, 2027 and revert by September 17, 2027.

Funding for state diploma seals

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state funds small grants for student diploma seals: $35,200 for the State Seal of Biliteracy; $10,843 for State Seals of STEM and STEAM; and $12,765 for the State Seal of Civics and the civic excellence designation. Any unspent money must be committed by June 30, 2027 and revert by September 17, 2027.

More Canvas access for students

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state funds Canvas licenses for schools: $560,370 in FY2025–26 and $495,000 in FY2026–27. This expands access to online learning tools. Unused FY2025–26 funds must revert by September 18, 2026; unused FY2026–27 funds by September 17, 2027.

More school supports and data tools

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state provides $3 million in FY2025–26 and $3 million in FY2026–27 to roll out a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) and related training. It also funds $50,000 in each year to build custom student data reports. Unused FY2025–26 funds must revert by September 18, 2026; unused FY2026–27 funds by September 17, 2027.

New school ratings and reviews

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state provides a one-time $218,948 to design and launch a new Nevada School Performance Framework. It also funds a one-time $30,000 contract to review Department of Education programs and policies. Any unspent money must be committed by June 30, 2027 and revert by September 17, 2027.

State aid to charter schools

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state transfers $1,307,938 in FY2025–26 and $1,307,938 in FY2026–27 to the State Public Charter School Authority to offset federal grant cuts. This keeps charter school oversight and support in place. Unused FY2025–26 money must revert by September 18, 2026; unused FY2026–27 money by September 17, 2027.

Study funding plan and district efficiency

Beginning July 1, 2025, the law funds a one-time $35,000 study of the Pupil-Centered Funding Plan. It also provides $348,000 in one-time grants to help school districts improve financial and operational efficiency. Any unspent money must be committed by June 30, 2027 and revert by September 17, 2027.
