More staff and upgrades for justice records

The law adds staff and programming to support the state’s criminal justice records system. It provides $498,943 in 2025–2026 and $623,345 in 2026–2027 for support positions. It also provides $1,355,000 in 2025–2026 and $300,000 in 2026–2027 for computer programming and related services. Money cannot be committed after June 30 each fiscal year. Any unused money returns to the State General Fund on September 18, 2026 and September 17, 2027.

New records system for parole and probation

The law funds a new records management system for the Division of Parole and Probation. It provides $151,450 in 2025–2026 and $151,450 in 2026–2027. It also pays $1,351,429 in 2025–2026 and $2,380 in 2026–2027 to replace equipment and renew software. Money cannot be committed after June 30 each fiscal year. Any unused money returns to the State General Fund on September 18, 2026 and September 17, 2027.

New vehicles and computer gear for investigators

The law replaces vehicles and computer hardware for the Investigation Division. It provides $133,339 in 2025–2026 and $228,715 in 2026–2027 from the State General Fund for vehicles, plus $55,893 in 2025–2026 and $558 in 2026–2027 from the State Highway Fund. It also provides $50,692 in 2025–2026 and $46,920 in 2026–2027 for computer hardware and software. Money cannot be committed after June 30 each fiscal year. Any unused money reverts on September 18, 2026 and September 17, 2027 to the source fund.

Public Safety upgrades and recruiting with deadlines

The law funds several one-time needs at the Department of Public Safety. It pays $462,748 from the State General Fund and $283,620 from the State Highway Fund to replace network equipment and software. It also provides $866,832 and $2,022,607 to modernize the state criminal justice information system. It sets aside $840,926 for a recruiting campaign. It includes small replacements for the Investigation Division: $9,742 (General Fund) and $2,598 (Highway Fund) for desk chairs, and $1,886 for computer hardware. Agencies cannot commit these funds after June 30, 2027. Any money left cannot be spent after September 17, 2027 and must return to the original fund.
