Ends annual Tahoe fire report

The law repeals NRS 528.150. The State Forester Firewarden no longer files a yearly report on fire prevention and forest health in Nevada’s Lake Tahoe Basin. This reduces paperwork but cuts public reporting on these issues.

Tahoe Basin land deals and limits

The Division of State Lands can buy, accept, or trade land or property interests in the Lake Tahoe Basin from willing owners. It can resell, lease, or trade that land. Agencies and nonprofits can get it on terms that serve the public. Private buyers must pay at least fair market value. The state can retire development rights and reduce harmful land coverage to protect the Basin. Before any transfer, the Registrar records deed restrictions when needed to protect the public. No one may acquire, disturb, or use this state-acquired land or interests without the Registrar’s written OK. Property interests include conservation easements and rights to develop or place land coverage.
