Junior ROTC teaching endorsement for veterans

Beginning July 1, 2026, Nevada sets rules for a Junior ROTC teaching endorsement. If you are a U.S. service member or veteran with JROTC instructor certification, you can receive this endorsement. The certification can be any JROTC instructor approval from a military branch, including temporary or provisional. The endorsement is issued after the state Commission finalizes the required regulations. This helps you qualify for JROTC teaching jobs, but it does not guarantee a job or set pay.

School jobs must credit military training

Beginning July 1, 2026, Nevada school districts must count your military education, training, and experience toward job requirements. If you are a service member or veteran and provide a Joint Services Transcript or similar record, districts must consider it for required training, experience, certification, or licensure. This includes JROTC instructor certification. It improves your chance to qualify for school jobs, but it does not guarantee hiring or a specific salary.
