Pay for family caregivers of Medicaid kids

Beginning January 1, 2027, Nevada Medicaid pays family members for personal care. The child must be under 18, on Medicaid with personal care coverage, and diagnosed with a disability or chronic illness that prevents independent daily living. A family member who provides the covered personal care can be reimbursed. The state must apply for any federal waiver or State Plan change to receive federal funding. Funding starts July 1, 2025: $135,086 for FY 2025–2026 and $414,251 for FY 2026–2027 from the General Fund, plus $306,334 and $616,026 from other funds. Unspent money cannot be committed after June 30 each year and must revert by September 18, 2026, and September 17, 2027.
