Higher fees for constable services

Constables now charge more for civil papers and related tasks. Serving a summons or other civil process is $26. Summoning a jury before a justice of the peace is $26, and taking a bond is $26. A warrant executed is $48. Travel for service is $3 per mile, one way, with a $30 cap on mileage if service is not successful. Eviction notices use tiered fees: $26 for one; $20 each for 2–10; $17 each for 11–24; and $15 each for 25 or more. Mailing a notice of a writ of execution is $3.

Sheriffs now charge more for civil papers and related tasks. Serving a summons, subpoena, or court order is $26 per person. Travel for service is $3 per mile, one way. If service is not successful, mileage is capped at $30. Many other actions, like taking a bond, levies, posting or advertising, and issuing sale certificates or sheriff’s deeds, are $26. Eviction notices use tiered fees: $26 for one notice; $20 each for 2–10; $17 each for 11–24; and $15 each for 25 or more. Mileage for these is $3 per mile.
