Faster path to restore civil rights

The Pardons Board can use a fast track to restore civil rights. It can do this only if the county district attorney does not object and no victim asked for notice. A court’s lack of objection is no longer required. The Board also streamlines notices: it no longer sends applications and meeting notices to the district judge. The district attorney still gets notice, and the county commission chair gets notice in fine or forfeiture cases.

Parole decisions posted and shareable

The Parole Board must keep and post summaries of all parole decisions at least every three months. The summaries include reasons and counts for grants, denials, revocations, and continuances. Anyone can ask for the decision record for a named prisoner. The Board shares it only after the prisoner and any victims are told. Personal identifying details are removed.
