The law lets health care professionals who are licensed and in good standing in another U.S. state or territory treat participants at Ironman Lake Placid without a New York license. They must be appointed by the World Triathlon Corporation. Covered roles include doctors, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, EMTs, physical therapists, chiropractors, dentists, optometrists, podiatrists, massage therapists, and athletic trainers. Care is only for athletes and team personnel registered to train in New York or to compete in the event. Care can be given from July 16 through July 21, 2025 (four days before through one day after the July 20 race). This authority ends July 23, 2025.
