Matching grants for themed tourism marketing

The state offers matching grants for integrated, themed tourism campaigns. An eligible group can get up to $50,000 in state matching funds each year. Eligible groups include two or more counties, or a series of related entities that market several related sites or activities in one campaign, including the “I Love NY Historic Small Business” brand. The commissioner sets the program rules and application.

I Love NY help for historic small businesses

The Department of Economic Development promotes small businesses on the state registry of historic businesses. It sets rules to use the I Love NY brand for niche and themed marketing, including the “I Love NY Historic Small Business” brand. The department approves when the brand is used for targeted promotions. Public benefit corporations, not-for-profits, New York Heritage Trail tourism agencies, convention and visitors bureaus, and local governments can use the brand at no cost for approved promotions. The law does not set new funding or a schedule.
