Franklin County assistant prosecutors gain residency options
Franklin County assistant district attorneys can live in Franklin County or an adjoining county within New York State. The exception excludes first or chief assistants whose duties include taking over when the district attorney is absent or unable to serve. Residency rules for assistant district attorneys in other counties remain unchanged. The law changes no other job qualifications or duties. It took effect immediately.
