More time to add epinephrine auto-injectors at venues

The law delays the start of the 2024 epinephrine auto-injector rule for places of public assembly. The requirement starts nine months after the 2024 chapter became law. Agencies can write and finish rules before that date. This act takes effect now, but its technical fixes start on the same date as the 2024 chapter. This gives venues more time to train staff and buy devices.

Clearer rules for auto-injectors at venues

The law renumbers the epinephrine auto-injector rule so it is now subdivision 5-e. It also fixes a citation in section 3000-c to point to 5-e. It clarifies that eligible people or entities are not required to get, store, or use an auto-injector unless the public assembly rule in 5-e requires it. These technical updates take effect on the same date as the 2024 chapter.
