Liquor license option for one Middletown business

Effective immediately, the New York State Liquor Authority can issue a retail liquor license for drinking on the premises. This exception allows a qualifying business within 200 feet of a school, church, synagogue, or other place of worship. The business must sell food or beverages for consumption on-site. It must be wholly within the law’s specified parcel in Middletown, Orange County: Lot 10 on Lands of Frank M. Stratton. The parcel’s boundaries are defined in the law, with reference to Filed Map 222, filed January 2, 1896. Approval is not automatic; the Authority decides whether to issue the license.
