Clarifies the provision of donate life registration to certain insured persons

Health plan forms offer organ donor registration

For major medical or similar comprehensive health coverage issued in New York, required forms must offer a donor registration choice. This covers enrollment, renewal, and first-time online portal setup forms for insured people, subscribers, and applicants. Forms must clearly display: “You must fill out the following section: Would you like to be added to the Donate Life Registry? Check box for 'yes' or 'skip this question'.” The registry covers organ, eye, and tissue donation; you do not have to register. Specified NY State of Health marketplace forms are exempt. The law takes effect on the same date and in the same manner as chapter 758 of 2022, as amended by chapter 159 of 2024.
