New job classifications for Syracuse airport staff

Effective immediately upon enactment, non-police positions appointed by the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority are in the exempt civil-service class. Police positions are excluded. The authority can hire staff and set qualifications, duties, and pay, subject to civil service law and applicable union contracts. It can also hire lawyers, auditors, engineers, and private consultants for professional, management, or technical services. The law does not specify changes to pay or benefits.
