The law lets the Croton-on-Hudson village board, by resolution, hire an assistant village engineer who lives outside the village. The person must live in Westchester County, an adjoining New York county, or in Dutchess County. This rule only applies to this job in Croton-on-Hudson and does not change rules for other towns. The law takes effect immediately.
