Bonuses for New York-conceived foals

The fund can pay bonus money for foals conceived in New York. To qualify, the foal must be dropped from a mare that lives in New York for a period the fund sets. The fund sets who gets the payment and how much.

New 2% starting fee per entry

You must pay a starting fee to enter any Sire Stakes race. The fee is at least 2% of the race’s estimated purse per entry. The fee is added to the purses that winners receive. The fund sets the exact fee by rule.

New Sire Stakes eligibility and microchips

To race in the New York Sire Stakes, a foal must be by a stallion owned or leased in New York and standing in New York at conception. The mare no longer must be bred in New York. This applies to two- and three-year-old trotters and pacers. The mare, stallion, and foal must be microchipped with info the commission requests. The fund can set more rules that decide who can enter.
