Tax relief for Hicksville Water District

The law lets the Nassau County assessor accept a late property tax exemption application from the Hicksville Water District. It applies only to 109 Stewart Ave, Hicksville (Section 45, Block 331, Lot 40). It covers parts of the 2024–2025 school taxes and 2025 general taxes, and all 2025–2026 school taxes and 2026 general taxes. The assessor reviews it as if filed on time and must find the district qualified under Real Property Tax Law §410. Roll corrections need approval by the Nassau County Legislature. If granted, the tax office may refund taxes already paid and cancel any unpaid taxes, fines, penalties, liens, or interest.
