Out-of-state clinicians can work New York Road Runners events

The law lets certain licensed health professionals from other states work at New York Road Runners events in New York. They must be in good standing and appointed by New York Road Runners. They can treat only registered athletes and team staff training in New York or competing in the event. They do not need a New York license or certification for this work. Care is allowed from four days before through one day after each event. Covered professions include doctors, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, EMTs (including paramedics), athletic trainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, dentists, optometrists, massage therapists, and podiatrists. The 2026 events include March 15 (NYC Half), May 16 (Brooklyn Half), and June 20 (Queens 10K). Also: September 20 (Bronx 10 Mile), October 11 (Staten Island Half), and November 1 (NYC Marathon), or another date allowed by the City in 2026.
