The law directs all Cortland County hotel and motel tax money into a county reserve account for tourism and development. Local law may let the county keep up to 10% to administer the tax. After that, at least 75% of up to the first $1 million in net yearly receipts funds tourism planning, promotion, and product development. Any remaining net receipts support other lawful county economic development. The law takes effect immediately.
