Authorizes the Bedford Hills Fire District to file an application for exemption from school and real property taxes

Bedford Hills Fire District Tax Relief

The law takes effect immediately and lets the Bedford Hills Fire District seek school and property tax relief for 2022–2023. It covers only the district-owned parcel at 332 Bedford Road in Bedford, Westchester County. The tax map identifies it as section 60.14, block 5, lot 82. The Bedford assessor can accept the application as filed on time for the 2022–2023 assessment roll. The assessor must find that the district qualified by the original deadline, and the Bedford town governing board must approve. The assessor can then exempt the parcel from all taxation and correct the assessment roll. After approval, local officials may refund taxes, fines, and penalties already paid. They may also cancel unpaid taxes, fines, penalties, interest, or tax liens; refunds and cancellations are optional.
