State gives Syosset school land for $1

The law lets the Commissioner of General Services transfer 3.44 acres (149,892.19 sq. ft.) of state land in Syosset to the Syosset Central School District for $1. The land must be used only to build or expand Berry Hill Elementary; otherwise it reverts to the State. To get the land, the district must file within one year of the law’s effective date a board-approved resolution that accepts those limits. The district must provide an accurate survey for the Commissioner’s approval, and the Commissioner may set other conditions. The law takes effect immediately, and the transfer authority ends two years after that date.
