Longer, easier MWBE certification renewals

The law makes most MWBE certifications valid for five years from approval. Provisional certifications are not covered. After your certification expires, the state assumes you still qualify when you apply to recertify, unless it finds otherwise. That applies only if ownership has not changed and there is no major change in management or business. Your original approval must be within the last 10 years and your filing follows 21 NYCRR 9606. These rules apply to filings made on or after July 1 following enactment.
